San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite (SSCRdC) Baycats won over St. Mark Lions 63-57 in the elimination series of the Southern Cavite Athletics Association (SCAA) Season 1 at the Jabez Camp Site, Dasmariñas, Cavite last Saturday, August 20, 2016.


During the first half of the game, Baycats was down by 6 points 26-32 until the end of the 3rd quarter where Lions was still ahead by few points. Through the heroics of Nicolo Austin Layola, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School students Yster Grant Layola, Ralph Lauren Santiago, John Martin dela Cruz, Miguel Bernabe, Luis Itugot, Luis Plan, and Jayde Zendrix Fajardo, the Baycats was able to narrow the lead until they finally won by 6 points against the Lions.


According to Baycats’ coach Jonathan Camangeg, the format of the league is a single round-robin elimination by bracket. The top 4 teams from both brackets will advance to the semi-finals and the winners will compete in the championship. Baycats has a 1-1 standing after losing their first game, and has 3 games more to play. Games are played on Saturdays.
