Faculty members of the College and Senior High School departments updated their instructional
skills through seminar-workshops from May 31-June 3 and June 6, 2016. The Lower Basic
Education Department (LBED) had their own series of trainings from June 1-4 and June
6, 2016.
The In-SeT for the College and SHS faculty started with a Eucharistic celebration
presided by Re. Fr. James Dexter R. Tanquis, OAR, VP for Academics. Rev. Fr. Cristituto
A. Plaomar, OAR, acknowledged the presence of the resource speakers and the participants
of the 5-day training activity. Dr. Romina R. Barcarse, Associate Dean of the College
of Allied Medical Sciences of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite led the
discussion and workshop about Action Research; Mrs. Maria Soledad T. Tubay, SHS Principal
gave updates on the K to 12 program; Mr. Felipe R. Costuna, Jr., Dean of the College
of Criminal Justice Education, and OIC of Safety and Security, talked about SSC-RdC’s
Emergency Plans and Procedures on Fire and Earthquake; Rev. Fr. Cristituto A. Palomar,
OAR conferred about the Augustinian Recollect Values; Mr. Rheymard G. Doneza, Public
Relations Officer, re-oriented the participants the SSC-RdC’s Vision, Mission, Values,
and Objectives, and introduced the Religious and Lay Administrators for S.Y. 2016-2017;
Prof. Liezl R. Astudillo, Academic Coordinator of Berkeley School in Baguio gave
a seminar-workshop about the Psychology of Learning; Prof. Leonida T. Africa, President
of St. Theresa’s College-Manila Foundation led the discussion and workshop on Formulation
of Test Questions and Improvement of Instruction Through Questioning and Facilitating
Skills and Techniques while Dr. Mario B. Hubilla, Jr., a professor at De La Salle
University-Dasmariñas concluded the training with his topic Curricular Review and
Syllabi Workshop.
In the LBED, Atty. Cecilio D. Duka, Ed. D. discussed the topic on Child Protection
Policy, Anti-Bullying, Sexual Harassment, and Violence against Children; Ms. Jade
M. Diaz talked about Student-Centered Teaching Strategies in line with Performance
Tasks; Ms. Mary Grace Del Rosario talked about Facilitating Learning through Innovative
and Student-Centered Teaching Strategies that develop HOTS. Speakers for the LBED
were provided by Rex Publishing House and Phoenix Publishing House.
