ABOUT US

  1. Individual Inventory – Students’ personal data are collected and recorded to serve as a reference of the students’:
  • Academic,
  • personal, and
  • psychological profile.
  1. Information Service - The Student Development and Placement Center’s Information service provides students with:
  • Personal-social information – helps the students to develop their personality and social life
  • Educational-academic information – helps the students in choosing proper academic setting and program
  • Vocational-Occupational Information – helps them to learn about the world of work and careers
  1. Counseling Services - This service provides a helping relationship between the counselor and the client. If the students and/or members of the community feel the need to talk to a counselor, they can come at the SDPC office anytime.
  2. Psychological Testing and Assessment Service – This ser-vice provides assessment of the intellectual ability, interest, potential, personality and achievement level of students. It seeks to identify students’ individualism that will contribute to a deeper awareness and understanding of oneself.
  3. Placement – This service provides assistance to the student’s progress to the appropriate educational or occupational level or program; entry into the appropriate co-curricular and extra curricular activities; pursuit of further education or other employment upon leaving the institution.
  4. Referral – This service offers assistance to the clients in obtaining services from other people or agencies that might be more effective in helping them with their special needs. Normal-ly, referrals are made to other individuals, particularly specialists, who might be in a better position in handling the case and responding to the peculiar needs of the student or the client.
  5. Follow-up – This service offers extension of help to the students in order to determine goal attainment and client satisfaction. It helps to identify the standing of the individual who received assistance and what other assistance must be rendered so that the service is complete and holistic.
  6. Research and Evaluation – Research is a service oriented activity conducted to discover new ideas, knowledge, to advance the present knowledge, and to substantiate theory. It seeks to discover new techniques, strategies and interventions that might be helpful for the client. Likewise, it attempts to un-veil the needs of the school community as well as to establish the need to improve programs and interventions.
  7. Auxiliary Services – These are the special services offered by the guidance:
  • Peer Facilitator’s Group – serves as the extension arm of the Student Development and Placement Center
  • Provide students with Certificate of Good Moral
  • Guidance Outreach Programs
  • School Promotions


The Student Development and Placement Center of San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite works as an integral part of the total educational process. It primarily provides for the holistic development of the students to the fullest actualization of their potential while extending its services to families, alumni, and members of the community.
