The SSC-R de Cavite Family paid tribute to its teachers across all departments and to faculty from Sacred Heart School of Cavite-Recoletos (SHSC-R) during the first-ever Recollect-Sebastinian Teachers' Day held at the Recoletos 4th Centennial Gymnasium, October 10.

The occasion was timed to coincide with the Feast Day of Saint Thomas of Villanova, Patron Saint of Studies, whose name is borne by the libraries and learning resource centers in both campuses. The event theme "You will receive it back a hundred times more than you offered" is likewise attributed to the Spanish saint.

Teachers were treated like celebrities for a day complete with arrival honors as they filed into the gymnasium to mark the start of the program proper. Student representatives spoke glowingly of the faculty in their respective departments and showed their appreciation for them through song and dance numbers, spoken poetry, and small tokens.

Prior to this, a Eucharistic Celebration was officiated by Rev. Fr. Rommel L. Rubia, OAR, Vice President for Administration, while Rev. Fr. Joseph Dexter D. Palagtiosa, OAR, Vice President for Formation, Mission, and Identity gave the Opening Remarks.

Miss Melissa B. Puti, MBA, Dean of Student Affairs delivered the Closing Remarks for the Teachers' Day program.

Guests then proceeded to the Cañacao Campus Lobby to partake of a boodle-fight lunch.

Basketball games, first between the Junior High School players of SSC-RdC and SHSC-R, and then between the Senior High School players of both Communities, took place in the afternoon.
