This course is after examination of selected theories and models of communication. Emphasis on the nature and function of theories and models, especially as these relate to basic principles underlying the scientific, interpretative and critical study of communication phenomena.
MC3 Development Communication
This course is designed for a better understanding of communication that leads to
its meaningful application in the field of development. Hence, this course enumerates
and discusses concepts, theories, principles, and methods geared towards development
aligned with the UN Millennium Development Goals and the Philippine Medium-

MC4 RTV and Film Script Writing
This is a basic writing class for television, radio and film, familiarizing the students with television terms and procedures in preparation for their TV Production class. Moreover, simple TV script formats as well as proper use of the different broadcast elements will be taught. Additionally, in fundamentals of writing for radio, students will learn to develop stories and character structures.
MC5 Performing Arts
This course is a practical approach to the study of theater covering basic aspects like acting, singing, dancing, directing, and stage craft. The mounting of an actual production towards the end of the semester would be the culminating activity.
MC6 Radio Production
This course is designed to give students understanding in radio production techniques and equipment used. This includes practice in recording, and editing skills. Students will produce radio commercials and dramas as well as train delivery in the delivery of news and oral commentary.
MC7 Organizational Communication
This course is an introduction to concepts pertinent to communication in organizations. It includes relevant theories, technologies, and ethics. The course introduces students to trends and issues that confront organizations.

MC8 Film Production
A subject focused on introduction to film history and theory. In includes principles and techniques of production film.
MC9 Corporate Communication
Related to Public Relations and Organizational Communication, Corporate Communication trains the Mass Communication student in dealing with various constituents through the extensive study of cases and trends. Additionally, the course will equip students with various management communication skills useful in most business environments.
MC10 Mass Communication Research
Communication research strategy and methodology: scientific process; bases for derivation and verification of hypothesis and basic methods of designing research in communication, with emphasis on the application of communication theories to various professional communication areas.
MC11 Advertising Principles
An introductory course on advertising designed to familiarize students with the principles
and practices of this persuasive form of communication. The course aims to discipline
the students in the planning and implementation of advertising campaigns.

The course highlights the rudiments of Public Relations through an overview of its history, concepts, and practice. Students will gain an appreciation of the theoretical side of the field through the analysis of cases that narrate how actual companies used Public Relations to their advantage
PR2 Public Relations Planning and Programming
PR2 takes the study of Public Relations a notch higher by requiring students to conceptualize and develop their own public relations plan, programs, and campaigns with the ends of proposing these to an actual organization or implementation by the students themselves.
PR3 Public Relations Writing and Editing
The course is designed to provide students with exposure to concepts and principle involved in writing in Public Relations. Specifically, this course intends to enhance the skills of the students in writing news releases for different kinds of media, in using creative design as a tool for effective Public Relations programs, and in writing Public Relations papers like pitch letters, media alerts, press kits, speeches, position papers and white papers.
